RENT A STALL FOR JUST A DAY
OR A WEEKEND
If you’ve got something to sell or to tell people about, then Carrara Markets is the ideal venue. If you’ve got something to sell and you’re not quite sure how well it will go, then Carrara Markets is the perfect place to give it a try.
There are no bonds, deposits, contracts or paperwork. And, best of all it’s so cheap to do it. You can rent a stall for just a day from as little as $40 day. With thousands of shoppers visiting the market each weekend it’s incredible value. In fact you can’t rent storage space this cheap!
Many mainstream businesses use Carrara Markets simply to showcase a sample of what they do or have and invite the public to view their larger range off-site or online. Think of a wedding photographer who can showcase their photography and undertake their services at another date.
PRODUCTS WE LOVE
We love products that are a little different from what you may find at a regular shopping centre. We want our customers to be excited, amused and inspired by the products on offer. That’s what keeps them coming back again and again.
We look for creativity in stallholders and welcome unique creations from fashion designers, hobbyists, craftsmen and artists.
Our customers love a bargain! Products that represent great value are always popular. However it is paramount that the cheapness of a product does not compromise on quality. Carrara Markets does not want to be associated with low-grade, sub-standard products.
Second-hand clothing, furniture and bric-a-brac are always of special interest to our shoppers… and what a great way of making a little extra income for you. As they say … one person’s trash is another person’s treasure!
WHAT CAN'T BE SOLD
The attraction of Carrara Markets is the incredible diversity and uniqueness of the products available, so, a few limitations are placed on the range of goods and services that can be offered for sale. Some notable exceptions are:
Nothing that infringes a manufacturer’s copyright
No sunglasses (we have plenty already)
No coffee vendors (we have plenty already)
Packaged food such as cakes, biscuits, honey, jams, coffee beans, teas can be sold and we welcome any interesting gourmet products that offer our customers something deliciously different.
Some low risk food items, for example popcorn and fairy floss, are accepted subject to their method of operation meeting certain health requirements. But, generally speaking, the selling of prepared food is not a casual option at Carrara Markets and may only be operated from outlets that are fully compliant with health regulations. Carrara Markets has a number of established food outlets. The Licences to operate some of these are available for sale and details can be provided on request.
WHAT IS A STALL
We call the space you are allocated to sell your product a Stall. When the markets began 30 years ago all Stalls were trestle tables. Over time, tents and sheds were built around some tables particularly when two or more tables were combined, and today, the markets consist of mainly lock up sheds with permanent businesses in them.
Regularly the Licences To Trade in these sheds are bought and sold (see longer term rental). However management long ago recognised the need to keep the markets offer fresh and varied, so, many Stalls are kept for casual letting. These casual Stalls are primarily the original concept of 2.4 m x 1m tables but now with cupboards under and a roof over. Some 2 table and 4 table size lock up sheds are also available to rent casually. Another option, particularly suited to displaying clothes racks, is to rent a 2.4m x 2.4m gazebo (the markets supplies the gazebos).
As a stallholder at Carrara Markets, you just don’t receive a table on the day, you get much more!
On-site security to ensure both our customers and our stallholders are in a safe environment
We undertake considerable advertising and marketing to ensure that we have big crowds each and every weekend
We have a great website that is user friendly
We are on facebook and instagram to ensure we are connected to the social media world
Whilst all parts of Carrara Markets are busy, some areas are busier than others. The cost to rent a Stall varies depending on the day and the Stall’s location.
To make it simple we have graded the Stalls – Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Standard, based on our knowledge of where the busiest locations are. Prices for single table stalls and gazebos are as follows:
STALL GRADING - PLATINUM
SATURDAY - Not available single day
SUNDAY - Not available single day
WEEKEND (both Sat & Sun) - $175
STALL GRADING - GOLD
SATURDAY - Not available single day
SUNDAY - Not available single day
WEEKEND (both Sat & Sun) - $140
STALL GRADING - SILVER
SATURDAY - $55
SUNDAY - $70
WEEKEND (both Sat & Sun) - $115

Most people find the single Stall or Gazebo more than sufficient to start with, however rates for multiple table Stalls are available on request. These rates are discounted multiples of the single table Stall rate. Lock up sheds are often also available to rent (details available on request).
If it is your first time at Carrara Markets select a rent to suit your budget and projected sales.
WHAT TO BRING
You can bring along material to enhance the presentation of the Stall you rent. A table cover is a good start. Bring a chair if you require one. A small clothing rack or similar is permitted as an addendum to the stall you rent, but otherwise excessive trading outside of the stall area is not allowed. You should avoid hand-written point of sale signs, we suggest you print signs from a computer and laminate them. Most Stalls have access to power but if you need power let us know when you book and bring an extension lead. Don’t forget to bring a change float and don’t forget you must trade until 2.30pm.
