BUYING OR SELLING A USED VEHICLE

Buyer's Checklist

• a current safety certificate displayed that identifies the issuing approved inspection station
• a REVS Certificate to check there is no outstanding finance on the vehicle and/or it hasn’t been stolen.
• if the vehicle is registered complete a transfer of registration form and lodge it with Queensland Transport within 14 days of purchase.
• if the vehicle is unregistered complete the registration forms and lodge them at a Queensland Transport Customer Service Centre or agency.

Seller's Checklist:

• current registration papers for the car/boat/bike/caravan/trailer etc.
• a current Safety Certificate from an approved inspection station
• proof of identity ( current driver’s license etc.)
• most of all you need the car/boat/bike/caravan/trailer etc.
